Twenty-two hurt by severe turbulence on SIA flight

SINGAPORE — Twenty-two people were hurt when sudden turbulence hit a Singapore Airlines jet during descent in India yesterday (Oct 18).

SINGAPORE — Twenty-two people were hurt when sudden turbulence hit a Singapore Airlines jet during descent in India yesterday (Oct 18).

A Singapore Airlines statement said that eight passengers and 14 crew on board SQ424 from Singapore to Mumbai had sustained injuries and were attended to by medical personnel on arrival at Mumbai Airport.

All 8 passengers were hospitalised and 6 have been discharged by the medical personnel after examination. Of the 14 crew who were hurt, 10 required hospitalisation, but have since been cleared and discharged by medical personnel.

A total of 408 passengers and 25 crew had been on board the plane.
