SINGAPORE — Six public entertainment outlets at St James Power Station were raided by the police in the wee hours of Saturday morning (March 16).

Of the six outlets , two were found to have breached licensing conditions, police said in a statement.

Forty people were checked by the police during the operation, and two people were arrested for using abusive language towards police officers.

A total of 22 motorists in the vicinity of Telok Blangah Road were also checked for drink driving.

The multi-agency operation involved officers from the Clementi Police Division, Criminal Investigation Department, Traffic Police and Central Narcotics Bureau.

Investigations against these two persons are ongoing, the police added.

The operation comes after a man was allegedly murdered at St James Power Station last Sunday. Five suspects have been arrested so far. Four have been charged with murder.

The victim Satheesh Kumar Manogaran, 35, was found with stab wounds to his head and back between 5.45am and 6am at St James Power Station. He was later pronounced dead at Singapore General Hospital.

Preliminary investigations by the police suggested that Satheesh was involved in a dispute with a St James Power Station employee before his death. One of the suspects, Shawalludin Sa'adon, 26, was a part-time waiter at Postbar, one of the bars at St James Power Station.
