SINGAPORE — A war relic was found today (June 19) at Marine Drive.
The police said they received a call at about 1.24pm requesting for assistance at block 79 Marine Drive.
It was established upon police arrival that a war relic — a hand grenade — had been found at the location.
Construction worker Didar Hosen, 25, who found the relic while he was working, said he alerted his boss. His boss later called the police.
The Singapore Armed Forces’ Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosives (CBRE) unit attended to the incident and CBRE officers safely removed the war relic from the location at about 5.35pm. No danger was posed to the public, said the police.
