SINGAPORE — There has been another recent scam attempt. This time, the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) is warning the public of a training organisation offering vouchers in return for individuals signing up for its courses.

The organisation then claims their SkillsFuture Credit by using SingPass. In a Facebook post on Friday (July 15), the WDA said it is currently investigating the matter.

“The WDA takes a serious view of any individual or organisation that abuses the SkillsFuture Credit scheme and will not hesitate to act against those who contravene our guidelines and terms on the use of SkillsFuture Credit,” it added.

It urged all SingPass users to avoid sharing their account information with others. Those contacted by individuals or organisations offering such “suspicious offers” should also inform the WDA at https://portal.wda.gov.sg/feedback.

Just three days before the WDA advisory, NTUC FairPrice warned of another scam involving vouchers. In this case, an online advertisement with the supermarket’s logo claims that those who take part in a web survey would get a $500 voucher.

“Please note that this is not created or endorsed by FairPrice and we advise our customers to be wary of such campaigns. We’ve also separately made a police report,” FairPrice said on its Facebook page about the phishing scam.
