Wet weather expected for the first two weeks of August
SINGAPORE – It’s time to bring out the umbrella again. After a dry spell during the second half of July, wet weather is expected in the first two weeks of August.
According to the Meteorological Society Singapore (MSS), short-duration thundery showers are expected on six to eight days, occurring between the late morning and early afternoon.
Widespread thundery showers with gusty winds can also be expected on one or two days, between the pre-dawn and early morning hours.
Despite the wet outlook, the MSS said that there will be a few warm days, with maximum temperatures reaching as high as 34°C.
On most days though, maximum temperatures are forecast to hover around 32°C and 33°C, while minimum temperatures can dip to 23°C to 25°C.
The prevailing South-west Monsoon conditions are also expected to continue in the first fortnight of August, and you can experience low level winds coming in from the southeast or southwest.
