SINGAPORE — With a launch of a digital medical library on Friday (Sept 23), a wealth of clinical training videos is available to professionals and the public at the touch of a button.

The portal, Learningin10.com, was produced by medical specialists and faculty from the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre. It features 150 video lectures across 15 common medical categories such as cancer, infectious diseases and surgery. Each lecture lasts 10 minutes with audio explanations.

Health Minister Gan Kim Yong introduced the website on Friday, the opening day of the two-day SingHealth Duke-NUS Scientific Congress.

At the opening ceremony, Mr Gan also announced a new research project looking at heart disease.

As part of the project, a genomic and clinical database of 20,000 heart disease patients and healthy individuals will be built.

“By studying the two cohorts’ genetic risk factors and clinical characteristics, researchers hope to understand the genetic and clinical markers that may predict an individual’s risk of developing heart disease,” said Mr Gan.
