SINGAPORE — A 40-year-old man was arrested today (Nov 20) after police found the body of a 30-year-old woman lying motionless in a ninth-floor unit of Block 406, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.

Police had received a call for assistance at 12.33pm today. Upon arrival, paramedics pronounced the woman dead.

Channel NewsAsia later saw police looking through rubbish at the void deck under the block. The suspect was later taken away by the police.

A neighbour staying on the same floor told Channel NewsAsia that the suspect is a local and has tattoo on his neck. According to her, there were rumours that the suspect had a group of prostitutes under his charge, and different people have been seen coming in and out of the flat.

Another neighbour living on the floor below told Channel NewsAsia that she heard shouting and banging sounds this morning between 7.30am and 9.30am. Over the past six months, she has also heard arguments at about 3am or 4am the morning.

The suspect will be charged in court this Saturday. Investigations are still ongoing.
