SINGAPORE — The woman who was hospitalised after being hit by a falling tree in a car park is in stable condition, and has been moved from the intensive care unit to a high dependency ward.
Ms Janet Cher, 48, was hit by the tree as she was getting out of a lorry on Monday afternoon (Feb 13). The mother of two is said to have suffered head injuries.
On Wednesday, her brother, Adam, said Ms Cher has been transferred to the high dependency ward at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). She can open her eyes but is unable to speak, added Mr Cher, 46. NTFGH said the woman is in a stable condition.
The fallen tree was in an area managed by the Singapore Land Authority. The authority is still investigating the case.
The accident happened two days after Ms Radhika Angara, 38, a mother of two, was killed by a falling Tembusu tree in the Singapore Botanic Gardens on Saturday.
Four others, among them her husband and her twin children, were injured when the tree, 40m tall and 6.5m in girth, collapsed near the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage in the park.
