Worker dies after being trapped on top of crane at Keppel Terminal

SINGAPORE — A man has died after he was trapped at the cable drum on top of a crane at Keppel Terminal.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the rescue incident at 10.20am on Wednesday (Sept 20) morning.

A fire engine, one red rhino, one ambulance and three support vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by SCDF paramedics.

The body was brought down from the crane by SCDF and an in-house emergency team from the port operator PSA.

TODAY understands that the man is a worker at the facility.
