INCHEON — Raynn Kwok has added a late sailing silver for Singapore in a jury room decision for Race 11 of the Men’s Optimist event at the 17th Asian Games.

The 12-year-old started the day in fourth position, and moved up to bronze medal position after a third place in Race 11.

Despite crossing the line fifth in the final Race 12, Raynn lodged a protest against Thailand’s Suthon Yampinid and Malaysia’s Dhiauddin Rozaini for infringements for the previous race, upon returning to shore.

Both Suthon and Dhiauddin were provisionally in silver and bronze medal positions but were handed disqualifications in the jury room after a two-hour deliberation, resulting in Raynn’s promotion into silver medal on the final standing.

On the penultimate day of sailing, Singapore has won two gold (women’s 420 and women’s Optimist), two silver (women’s 29er and men’s Optimist) and two bronze medals (men’s Laser and men’s 420).

The J80 match-racers will go into the medal rounds tomorrow (Wednesday) as top seeds after winning 15 of their 16 round robin matches.
