WASHINGTON 101 CHICAGO 99

(Washington lead best-of-seven series 2-0)

Bradley Beal was the key for the Washington comeback in the closing stage of regulation and he finished with 26 points. Chicago’s Kirk Hinrich failed to convert at the foul line in the closing seconds and the Bulls now face an uphill task to avoid first-round elimination.

TORONTO 100 BROOKLYN 95

(Best-of-seven series level at 1-1)

Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan (picture) scored 30 points in the Raptors’ series-squaring win over Brooklyn. Jonas Valanciunas had 15 points and 14 rebounds for his second-straight double-double of the series, while Amir Johnson scored 16 points and Kyle Lowry had 14. For the Nets, who host Game 3 on Friday, Joe Johnson scored 18 points and Deron Williams had 15.

INDIANA 101 ATLANTA 85

(Best-of-seven series level at 1-1)

Indiana responded to the pressure of a shock first-up home defeat by Atlanta with Paul George scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Paul Millsap finished with 19 for Atlanta.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“We decided we needed to just face that right off the bat at the beginning of the season and get it out of the way. Don’t blame it on the basketball gods or bad fortune or anything like that, the Miami Heat beat us and won the championship and that’s that.” — San Antonio Spurs’ Gregg Popovich, the NBA Coach of the Year, on how they rebounded back from the loss to the Miami Heat in the last season’s NBA finals.

TODAY’S FIXTURES* (Game 3):
