Commonwealth Games: Shuttlers advance with easy wins

GLASGOW (Scotland) — Singapore shuttlers are looking to keep the momentum going at the Commonwealth Games after their bronze medal win in the mixed team event on Monday (July 28).

GLASGOW (Scotland) — Singapore shuttlers are looking to keep the momentum going at the Commonwealth Games after their bronze medal win in the mixed team event on Monday (July 28).

In the men’s singles round of 32, Singapore’s Derek Wong took on Georgie Cupidon of the Seychelles. Wong easily won 21-3 and 21-4 to move on to the round of 16.

In the mixed doubles preliminaries, the Singapore pair of Chayut Triyachart and Yao Lei defeated their Sri Lankan opponents. The Singaporeans are through to the round of 32 after their 21-12 and 21-15 win. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
