An extra-special SEA Games for some of Singapore’s sailors

The 2015 SEA Games will be extra special for sailors Colin Ng and Anthony Kiong: The duo are the only Singaporean athletes in the 748-strong Singapore contingent who also participated in the 1993 SEA Games in Singapore — the last time the biennial event was held on home ground. Colin, 36, and Kiong, 40, partnered in the men’s 420 class at the 1993 SEA Games and took the gold.

They will now team up with Stanley Chan in the men’s keelboat fleet racing and match racing events at the 2015 SEA Games, and are aiming to bag two gold medals.

Fun fact:

Eleven-year-old Muhammad Deniel Kei is the youngest Singapore athlete heading into the 2015 SEA Games. The Primary Six student from Anglo-Chinese School will be competing in the optimist team racing event (under-16).
