SINGAPORE – Running and cycling enthusiasts will get a new challenge in town on July 20, when the inaugural KM Duathlon makes its debut at the Changi Exhibiion Centre.

Organised by Infinitus Productions, the KM Duathlon will feature two categories: the KM60 and KM30. The KM60 will see participants running 10km before taking on a 40km cycle and ending the race with a 10km run, while the KM30 will feature a 5km run, 20km cycle, 5km run format.

Endurance sports junkies can also partner with a buddy to compete in the KM Relay, which allows for the two-man team to strategise and decide on the running and cycling duties. Companies can also field a minimum of four participants for the KM Team Challenge, which will see the top four timings from each team over the KM60 distance competing for the 2014 KM Duathlon Team Challenge Champion Cup. The winning team’s chosen charity will also receive a S$2,500 donation from the event organisers.

“The KM Duathlon was conceived out of my passion to challenge and surpass my own boundaries,” said avid endurance athlete Jeffrey Foo, who is director of Infinitus Productions. “I am confident that participants of this event will feel the ultimate sense of satisfaction at the finishing line.”

Participants will also get a complimentary sports injury insurance for accidents and injuries when they sign up for the KM Duathlon.

Registration for the event opens today (Apr 16), and interested parties can sign up at www.kmduathlon.com
