Bale injures calf muscle, likely to miss Atletico match

MADRID — Real Madrid says Gareth Bale has injured a calf muscle in his left leg and will likely miss tomorrow (April 22)’s match against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals.

MADRID — Real Madrid says Gareth Bale has injured a calf muscle in his left leg and will likely miss tomorrow (April 22)’s match against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Madrid says its medical team “diagnosed a muscle injury in the soleus muscle of the left leg”.

During Madrid’s 3-1 win over Malaga on Saturday, Bale made signs with his hands that looked like a tearing motion.

Madrid will also be without injured midfielder Luka Modric for the match against Atletico. AP
