SINGAPORE - Germany World Cup winners Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng as well as top forwards Robert Lewandowski, Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben are some of the star players that Bayern Munich will be bringing to Singapore for the International Champions Cup, the Bundesliga champions announced on their website on Friday (July 7).

Led by master tactician Carlo Ancelotti, the Bayern squad will also include several reserve and Under-19 players.

However, Germany No 1 goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will not be part of the club’s Audi Summer Tour of China and Singapore.

According to the club, Neuer, who broke a metatarsal in April, is now able to walk without his crutches but will continue his recovery programme at Bayern to speed up his recovery and return to training.

“Everything’s going to plan. I’m aiming to be fit for the first game of the season against Bayer Leverkusen. I’m going to work hard every day to achieve that,” declared Neuer.

Bayern Munich players who took part in the Confederations Cup (Joshua Kimmich, Sebastian Rudy, Niklas Sule, Arturo Vidal) and Serge Gnarbry, who was part of the team that won the the U-21 European Championships will not be travelling to China and Singapore either.

Bayern will face English Premier League champions Chelsea and Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan in the ICC Cup which will be held at the National Stadium from July 25-29.

With 20 days to go before the first match of the ICC, which is being held in Singapore for the first time, tournament organisers are offering attractive benefits to all ticket-holders.

This includes a Grand Draw with the ultimate prize of a pair of passes to watch their favoured club – out of the three powerhouses coming here – in action at their home stadium in the 2017/18 season. The winner will also walk away with a pair of return airfare tickets and three nights’ accommodation.

To be eligible for the draw, all ticket holders simply need to enter a contest by naming their favourite team and the names of the players from their team featured in the main event poster.

Ticket holders can email their answers and their Sports Hub Tix account number to contest [at] catalystmedia.com. The contest closes on July 18 at 2359hrs.

Apart from the Grand Draw, a Kids Go Free initiative will also allow ticket-holders to bring children aged between three to 12 to watch the second match of the round-robin tournament – Bayern vs Inter on July 27 – for free. This will be limited to six children per transaction.
