SINGAPORE – It looks like Alvaro Morata is not wasting any time in getting to know his new Chelsea team-mates as the Spaniard is set to link up with them in Singapore for the International Champions Cup (ICC).

The 24-year-old arrived at Changi Airport on Saturday evening (July 22), having completed his transfer from Real Madrid on Friday in a deal worth up to £70 million (S$124 million) with the Blues paying £58 million up front.

Morata, who has penned a five-year deal, posted on his social media channels afterward that he was “On my way to Singapore” and was “very excited to be with the team”.

The rest of the Chelsea squad will arrive on Sunday morning (July 23) from Beijing, after playing Arsenal on Saturday night in a pre-season friendly.

German juggernauts Bayern Munich will arrive late Sunday afternoon and are set to be Morata’s first opponents in a Chelsea jersey when they clash in the ICC opener on Tuesday.

Inter Milan, the third team involved in the round-robin, glamour pre-season friendly tournament, will arrive on Wednesday morning.
