National footballer Faris Ramli showed off his silky skills on a very different platform yesterday afternoon. Instead of doing so on the National Stadium pitch, he did it on a stage at the Pertapis Children’s Home in Kovan Rise.

Home United winger Faris was one of three Lions who paid a visit to the Home yesterday, along with midfielder Hariss Harun and defender Irfan Fandi, who is the eldest son of former Singapore skipper Fandi Ahmad.

The visit, an early Children’s Day treat for the residents, was organised by national team supporters group Singamania. As a Children’s Day treat, the group and the Football Association of Singapore will also be bringing the 80 children from the Home to the National Stadium on Friday to watch the Singapore-Malaysia Causeway Challenge for free.
