Liverpool beats Burnley 2-0, stays in touch with top 4

Henderson, standing in as captain for Steven Gerrard, slotted home in the 29th minute and Daniel Sturridge headed in the second in the 51st as Liverpool took its unbeaten run in the league to 12 games.

Liverpool is the league’s only undefeated side in 2015, picking up 30 points from a possible 36 and winning seven of the last eight with six clean sheets.

Brendan Rodgers’ team is three points behind third-place Arsenal and two behind fourth-place Manchester United, which visits Anfield on March 15. AP
