SINGAPORE — English football fans will be able to catch free live screening of Sunday’s English Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool at 17 Community Clubs (CCs) across Singapore.
Since August, 25 CCs have held regular live screening of English Premier League matches, the result of a partnership between the People’s Association (PA) and SingTel mio TV.
The screenings aim to foster greater community bonding by bringing together friends and neighbours, giving them an opportunity to interact while cheering on their favourite teams.
Sunday’s clash sees a battle between two traditional rivals who are widely supported in Singapore and across Asia. United are currently third in the standings after a recent revival, while Liverpool sit in ninth place having narrowly missed out on the title last season.
Said Michael Foo, PA’s community sports division director: “We are delighted that residents are enjoying the EPL screenings at the CCs. They are a great opportunity for families and friends to get together and cheer on their favourite teams.
“We look forward to having the residents join us regularly throughout the entire season.”
