MediaCorp serves up World Cup 2014 on Sports on okto

SINGAPORE — MediaCorp will be broadcasting live the opening and closing ceremonies of the FIFA World Cup 2014, which kicks off tomorrow morning, as well as four matches from the quadrennial football extravaganza.

SINGAPORE — MediaCorp will be broadcasting live the opening and closing ceremonies of the FIFA World Cup 2014, which kicks off tomorrow morning, as well as four matches from the quadrennial football extravaganza.

These will be carried on the new Sports on okto with live streaming and catch-up also available on Toggle, MediaCorp’s OTT platform.

Coverage starts at 2.10am tomorrow with the opening ceremony at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, followed by the opening match between hosts Brazil and Croatia.

MediaCorp will also be carrying both semi-finals, on July 9 and 10 respectively, and the final from the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on July 14.

With ‘Sports on okto’, this move to streamline all sporting content onto one free-to-air channel will allow MediaCorp to strengthen our broadcasting efforts towards sports fans as well as viewers who want to support our fellow Singaporeans’ sporting efforts and triumphs.”

Future events to be carried live on Sports on okto include the rugby World Club 10s, Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, Incheon Asian Games and AFF Suzuki Cup.
