SINGAPORE — Calling all social footballers and weekend warriors. Fancy playing alongside or against Manchester United legends Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville in a five-a-side tournament?

You can get to do so next month if you and your friends take part in the CF Cup 2017.

The two former English Premier League stars will be in Singapore next month to be part of the tournament which will help mark the official opening of Cafe Football Singapore and The Arena, which is Singapore's latest sports and fitness facility at Woodleigh Park along Braddell Road.

The Arena offers not just a range of football pitches for public use but also fitness programmes such as Muay Thai, Aerial Yoga, Rock Climbing, Dance and Functional Fitness.

It also features Cafe Football Singapore, a franchise of the football-themed restaurant which was established by Neville and Giggs in the United Kingdom.

The CF Cup 2017 is open to all amateur players. You will have to form a team of eight players and register at www.cfcup.sg. There are two categories - Open and Corporate

Participating teams will play in qualifying rounds on April 1 and 2. The finals on April 8 will then see the top two teams, captained by the two Manchester United legends, face off against each other.

Giggs and Neville were in Singapore earlier this year to visit The Arena and to promote Cafe Football Singapore. They surprised a group of teenagers playing street soccer in Marine Parade by joining their game, and a promotional video of that subsequently proved a hit on social media.
