SINGAPORE — Runners can look forward to more bling at this year’s Great Eastern Women’s Run (GEWR), with a S$12,000 one-carat diamond solitaire necklace to be given away, while participants will receive a newly-designed rose gold-plated finisher medal.

The diamond necklace will be given out via a post-race lucky draw for participants of the 5km Live Great! Fun Run. Two 0.3-carat diamond solitaire necklaces worth $1,200 each are also up for grabs.

Runners taking part in the 21.1km half marathon will be given rose gold-plated finisher medals, while participants in the 10km, 5km, and 2km Mummy+ Me race distances will receive gold-plated medals.

These perks are among several new features at this year’s GEWR. Others include a zone with diamond photo walls and serialised diamond wristband cut-outs by local jeweller Ivy Masterpiece.

“We are constantly looking at ways to improve the run experience for our runners,” said Great Eastern’s head of brand and marketing Keith Chia. “This year, in addition to creating more Instagrammable moments, we are delighted to partner Ivy Masterpiece to bring a more dazzling run experience to our runners.”

Ivy Choa, Managing Director of Ivy Masterpiece added: “Diamonds often accompany special milestones in people’s lives, and we’re excited to be able to unite both running and diamonds for a unique experience on race day!”

The Great Eastern Women’s Run is Asia’s largest all-women run. In 2016, it won the Best Local Sports Event of the Year gong at the 2016 Singapore Sports Awards,

The run will be held at The Float@Marina Bay on Nov 12. Fees start from S$26, and registration closes on Oct 1. Interested participants can sign up at https://www.greateasternlife.com/greateasternwomensrun/index.html
