SINGAPORE – An additional 7,000 tickets to The Castlewood Group Battle of the Reds 2015, which will feature the Liverpool Masters taking on their age-old rivals the Manchester United Masters, will be made available to fans today (July 29).

Organisers cited strong demand for the event – more than 80 per cent of the 11,000 tickets originally released have been snapped up since they went on sale a month ago – for their decision to release additional tickets to the match, which will be held at the National Stadium on Nov 14.

“Both Liverpool and Manchester United have a huge fan base in Singapore and I am very pleased with the response so far,” said Masters Football Asia chief executive officer Steve Black. “The players are very excited and cannot wait to come back to Singapore and revive the rivalry and play to a huge crowd at one of the latest sporting venues in the world.”

Added Chris Comer, CEO of Castlewood Group: “Continuing our title sponsorship for this year’s Castlewood Group Battle Of The Reds is truly shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

“Being able to give back to the local community by letting supporters have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their idols is one of the reasons we originally partnered with Masters Football Asia, so we are elated that we can have even more fans be able to be part of the action in Singapore’s National Stadium.”

A sold-out crowd attended last year’s event at the Jalan Besar Stadium, where the Liverpool Masters team triumphed 3-1 up against a team of ex-Singapore internationals.

This year’s edition will see the likes of Luis Garcia, Vladimir Smicer and Steve McManaman playing for the Liverpool Masters team, while some of the confirmed names who will be lining up for the Manchester United Masters side include Andy Cole, Louis Saha and Lee Sharpe.

Tickets are priced at S$19, S$30 and S$45 and are already on sale at SportsHubTix. Family packages for two adults and two children below the age of 12 are also available. Visit www.mastersfootball.com for more information.
