SINGAPORE — Sports fans will be able to catch all the exciting action at the coming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games from June 5 to 17 wherever they are and whenever they want.

Toggle, MediaCorp’s over-the-top Internet video service, will host coverage of the Games across multiple platforms, including a computer, laptop, tablet, mobile phone and Smart TV, perfect for those constantly on the move or for fans who may not have time to visit the sporting venues.

There will be 12 live streams on Toggle, as well as a video-on-demand service that allows viewers to catch up on events they have missed earlier in the day.

Users can also select their preferred sports via a Sports Finder option or utilise the Remind Me function to alert them when their desired sporting event is about to start.

However, the service will not be available to those overseas because of copyright issues.

Bernard Lim, head of the MediaCorp SEA Games Steering Committee, said: “Being an event held at home in Singapore, the 28th SEA Games is especially significant for Singaporeans. MediaCorp is pleased to deliver the Games to viewers watching at home or accessing the content digitally, whenever they want, on the devices they choose. We hope to engage and inspire all Singaporeans to cheer for Team Singapore and celebrate their successes.”

Apart from Toggle, MediaCorp will also be broadcasting dedicated coverage of the Games on okto in high-definition quality.

Channel 5 will screen the June 5 Opening Ceremony and June 17 Closing Ceremony live, in addition to the daily Games highlight show Today At The Games.

Capital 95.8FM radio station will broadcast both ceremonies live with Chinese commentary, while Channel U will showcase key SEA Games events in dual sound, with English and Chinese commentary throughout the Games.

Sports fans looking to get together to share in the excitement can also head to the seven outdoor venues — Junction 8, Jcube, Orchard Gateway, Westgate, Bugis, Star Vista and Chinatown Point — where MediaCorp’s Out-of-Home (OOH) media will screen the Opening and Closing ceremonies. Fans stand to win cash vouchers by sharing their SEA Games moments on Instagram with the hashtag #SEAGamesMoments between June 5 and 16.
