SINGAPORE - The Cold Storage Kids Run will mark its 10th anniversary this year with a new race location and a new start time.

Organisers announced on Sunday (March 26) that the event, which attracts about 5,000 kids annually. will be held at Palawan Green at Sentosa on May 28. To minimise traffic congestion, the start time has been pushed back to 7.15am.

A variety of post-run family activities have also been arranged at the tourist attraction for participants and their families.

“The Cold Storage Kids Run is a wonderful platform for families to bond and also an amazing opportunity to inculcate healthy living and eating in children,” said Hannah Hong, Cold Storage’s marketing communications director.

“For the past nine years, we have held the race in various locations across the island. This year, we are excited for parents and their little ones to experience ‘Going Places’ through ‘Happy Paces’ on the island of Sentosa.

“Having the race at Palawan means children can enjoy the sun, sand and sea and visit various attractions on Sentosa after our event with their parents.”

The Cold Storage Kids Run held a two-day roadshow at United Square over the weekend.

In addition to onsite race registration, parents and children enjoyed food sampling, met Cold Storage’s mascots Banana King and Appleton and also learnt more about healthy eating from wellness expert Christine Rubi-Cruza.

There was also a ‘Healthy Lunchbox Contest’, where participating teams of parent and child competed to impress judges by selecting fresh and wholesome foods from Cold Storage.

“Today’s event was fun for the kids and also educational for us parents,” said national marathoner and SEA Games-bound Team Singapore athlete Jasmine Goh (above, right), who was a guest judge in the ‘Healthy Lunchbox Contest’ and a mother of two.

“I learnt more about creating healthy and affordable meals with Cold Storage’s health and wellness products myself.

“My two daughters have signed up for the run and I look forward to spending a memorable day with them at the Kids Run.”
