Sprinter Kang fails to advance at world championships

MOSCOW — National sprinter Calvin Kang clocked 10.66sec as he finished last in his heat in the men’s 100m at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow yesterday (12.15am today, Aug 11, Singapore time).

MOSCOW — National sprinter Calvin Kang clocked 10.66sec as he finished last in his heat in the men’s 100m at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow yesterday (12.15am today, Aug 11, Singapore time). The 23-year-old had qualified for the heats after winning his preliminary round race in 10.52sec, which equalled his personal best. Kang, who has taken a year off from his studies at Nanyang Technological University to train full-time, had entered the World Championships on a wildcard. He will be competing at this December’s SEA Games in Myanmar as a member of the 4x100m relay team.
