MMA giant UFC sets Jan 4 date for Singapore fight

SINGAPORE — The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has confirmed that its first fight card in South-east Asia will take place on Jan 4 in Singapore.

SINGAPORE — The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has confirmed that its first fight card in South-east Asia will take place on Jan 4 in Singapore. Details of the card, prices and venue will be announced in October. “We want to start the year with a bang and hopefully visitors on holiday in Singapore will stay on to catch the show here,” UFC Asia Managing Director Mark Fischer said today (Aug 29). Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the world’s leading Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) brand. Fischer told TODAY last month that UFC events in Asia are targeted at fans in the continent, and the UFC has inked deals with major broadcasters, including FOX Sports, that will show them live in countries.
