Sailors receive award for Para Games win

Tan and Yap won the double-handed Hansa 303 class at the Asian Para Games in Incheon, where 53 Singapore athletes from 11 sports returned with one gold, one silver and four bronze medals.

A total of S$145,000 in monetary awards, sponsored by the TOTE Board, were handed out at the awards, which were held at the Singapore Swimming Club. Mr Wong also announced that a Committee for Disability Sports will be formed to look into improving opportunities in sports for people with disabilities. Photo: MCCY
