SINGAPORE — With a month to go to the 28th South-east Asian Games, the Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committee (SINGSOC) unveiled the cauldron at the S$1.33 billion Sports Hub at Kallang today (May 6).

Located at the Waterfront plaza, the 19.2m structure is designed by a team of local architects who have conceptualised the cauldron to look like the human DNA with the vision of connecting individuals, communities and countries. Made of stainless steel, ,the art piece will also feature LED mesh that will display the time and weather during the Games.

A torch parade will be held on June 4 where the SEA Games flame will be paraded around Marina Bay before making its final journey to the cauldron at the Sports Hub on June 5. The torch relay will involve the Republic’s current and former SEA Games athletes, alongside selected pairs of intergenerational athletes.
