SEA Games: Chan wins first cycling medal for Singapore

SINGAPORE — National cyclist Dinah Chan has won Singapore’s first cycling medal at the 28th South-east (SEA) Asian when she finished third in the women’s individual time trial today (June 11) to clinch the bronze.

SINGAPORE — National cyclist Dinah Chan has won Singapore’s first cycling medal at the 28th South-east (SEA) Asian when she finished third in the women’s individual time trial today (June 11) to clinch the bronze.

Chan, who won gold in the same event at the 2013 Games, completed the 29.4km route in 47mins 44.91 secs.

She finished more than two minutes behind winner Marella Salamat (44:46.38) of the Philippines, while Thailand’s Chanpeng Nontasin (45:32.34) took the silver.

Chan, 29, is set to race in the women’s criterium tomorrow and the women’s road race a day later.
