SEA Games: Jowen Lim wins Singapore’s first wushu gold
KUALA LUMPUR — Singapore won their first wushu gold of the 29th SEA Games on Monday morning (Aug 21) through Jowen Lim.

KUALA LUMPUR — Singapore won their first wushu gold of the 29th SEA Games on Monday morning (Aug 21) through Jowen Lim.
The 18-year-old topped the field in the men’s optional daoshu and gunshu category at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
He had recorded a leading score of 9.68 in the gunshu portion on Sunday and scored a 9.69 in the daoshu portion for a combined 19.37 total, which was enough to win the gold.
It is his second Games gold after winning the men’s duel weapons event in the last edition on home soil.
Singapore's other representative in the event, Yong Yi Xiang, finished fourth.
The medal was Singapore’s third in wushu after siblings Fung Jin Jie and Fung Hui Xin each won a bronze in the optional jianshu on the first day of the competition on Sunday.
After Jowen's win, Zoe Mui took home Singapore's fourth wushu medal — a bronze in the women's daoshu event.
