KUALA LUMPUR — Shanti Pereira finished third in the SEA Games women's 100m final, winning the bronze for the second consecutive Games.

The 20-year-old clocked 11.76sec behind Vietnam's Le Tu Chinh, who won in 11.56sec, and Malaysia's Husniah Zulkifli who took silver in 11.74sec.

Shanti's time was just a whisker away from the new national record of 11.73sec which she set in the semi-finals earlier on Tuesday (Aug 22).

Shanti is the reigning SEA Games champion in the 200m and will be looking to defend her crown in the event on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, she lowered the national record of 11.80sec to 11.73sec.
