Singapore secures 4-2 victory against Cambodia

SINGAPORE — The Lions beat Cambodia 4-2 tonight (Nov 17) at the Yishun Stadium in their final friendly before they kick off their defence of the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup at the National Stadium next week.

SINGAPORE — The Lions beat Cambodia 4-2 tonight (Nov 17) at the Yishun Stadium in their final friendly before they kick off their defence of the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup at the National Stadium next week.

Four goals were scored by four different players over the course of the game. Khairul Amri Kamal kicked off the scoring in the ninth minute, followed by Faris Ramli’s 28th minute strike and then captain Muhammad Shahril Ishak’s 33rd minute goal. Safuwan Baharuddin rounded it off in the 37th minute with a free kick.

Cambodia replied through Khoun Laburavy in the 25th and 29th minute.

Singapore next goes up against Thailand on Nov 23, Myanmar on Nov 26 and then Malaysia on Nov 29 for the Suzuki Cup.

Singapore coach, Bernd Stange said: “Two wins in a row including the 2-0 win over Laos on Thursday has given the team a lot of confidence. It’s nice way to wrap up our friendlies matches before the tournament begins. Now we can look forward to the tournament.”
