Standard Chartered ups Marathon Singapore sponsorship to $10.5m
SINGAPORE – Standard Chartered Bank today announced a three-year renewal of its long-running sponsorship of Singapore’s flagship marathon, the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS).
SINGAPORE – Standard Chartered Bank today announced a three-year renewal of its long-running sponsorship of Singapore’s flagship marathon, the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS).
The new sponsorship is worth S$10.5 million, a $750,000 increase on their last three-year deal which ended last year, and will run through 2016.
Said Mr Neeraj Swaroop, the Singapore Chief Executive Officer for the bank: “Since 2002, Standard Chartered Bank has played a part in nurturing Singapore’s passion for running, and together with Sport Singapore and (organisers) Spectrum Worldwide, we aim to develop the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore into one of Asia’s best.
“The marathon has been an excellent platform for the Bank to engage with all our stakeholders, and it is an event that the Bank and our staff are immensely proud of.”
The event is run on the first Sunday of December each year, and public registration is scheduled to open in July for this year’s edition.
