BNP Paribas signs on as title sponsor of WTA Championships

SINGAPORE — BNP Paribas and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced today (March 11) that the French financial institution will continue as title sponsor of the 2014 to 2018 season-ending WTA Championships.

SINGAPORE — BNP Paribas and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced today (March 11) that the French financial institution will continue as title sponsor of the 2014 to 2018 season-ending WTA Championships.

Stacey Allaster, chairman and chief executive officer of WTA, said: “For more than 40 years, the BNP Paribas Group has promoted tennis in all its forms through the world. Our continued partnership is an example of the appeal women’s tennis holds among top global brands. I’m sure the 2014 BNP Paribas WTA Championships will be the best in the WTA’s history, offering unprecedented sports entertainment value.”

Added Pierre Veyres, CEO of BNP Paribas Singapore Branch and Regional Head for Southeast Asia: “We are excited to bring tennis to a whole new level with Singapore positioned as a world class sports hub. Our title sponsorship of the BNP Paribas WTA Championships reflects our continued commitment to the sports community across continents with the hope to connect the region with the rest of the tennis world.”

The prestigious women’s tournament will feature the world’s top eight singles and doubles players competing at the S$1.33 billion Kallang Sports Hub from Oct 17 to 26.

BNP Paribas WTA Championships corporate hospitality packages will go on sale in March and interested parties can register their details at www.wtachampionships.com. Tickets for the public will be available in stages from next month.
