SINGAPORE — Petra Kvitova ended her five-match losing streak against world No 2 Maria Sharapova, beating the Russian 6-3, 6-2 in one hour and fifteen minutes in a White Group round robin match at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals today (Oct 23).
This is the second straight loss for the Russian who started the week eyeing the year-end top spot in world rankings.
That target is still possible but she would need to beat Agnieszka Radwanska tomorrow and hope the result of the match between Caroline Wozniacki and Petra Kvitova goes her way.
