Windfall for S’pore table tennis
Local table tennis received a boost yesterday with the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) Fundraising Golf Tournament raising more than S$520,000 from private companies and individuals. Held at the Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong course, the tournament ended with a dinner attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K Shanmugam, who was the guest of honour, and national paddlers Feng Tianwei, Gao Ning and Clarence Chew. The funds will be channelled to cover STTA’s operating costs and youth development programmes, which includes the STTA-PAP Community Foundation initiative to get kindergarten children to play table tennis.
