SINGAPORE – The national youth netballers will play Bermuda in the playoff for 15th and 16th position at the World Youth Netball Championships in Glasgow tomorrow (Aug 30).

After a 56-45 loss to Namibia yesterday, the Singaporeans came up against Papua New Guinea (PNG) in today’s playoff for 13th to 16th spot. Despite coming into the contest as favourites after posting a 54-39 victory over PNG in their first group match last Friday, the 21 & Under squad found themselves trailing their opponents 30-23 in the first half. Regrouping after the break, the Singaporeans clawed back to close the deficit to five points (40-35) in the third quarter, but PNG held on till the end to claim victory 49-46 at the final whistle.

Victory against the Bermuda team tomorrow will see Singapore finishing 15th out of 20 teams at the world youth championships.
