SAN FRANCISCO — Google looking to expand its mobile capabilities, has acquired Pulse.io, which specialises in making applications faster and more responsive.
Google didn’t disclose the terms in an e-mail yesterday (May 29) announcing the deal. Pulse.io, whose customers include Groupon and MyFitnessPal helps clients improve the performance of an application, discovering for example what is slowing down software or why a screen freezes.
Google is increasing investments in mobile services as users turn to smartphones and tablets to access the digital content. The company this week announced new features for its Android software, which claimed almost 80 per cent of the smartphone market in the first quarter, according to Gartner.
“We can think of no better place to continue our journey than at the home of Android,” Pulse.io said in an announcement on its website. “Our team will focus on incorporating our technologies into the Google ecosystem.” BLOOMBERG
