iPhone app prices in S’pore to go up
SINGAPORE — Apple will be hiking app prices in Singapore and six other countries in the next 72 hours. Under the new pricing scheme, the cheapest paid iPhone app will cost S$1.48, up S$0.20 from S$1.28 now.
SINGAPORE — Apple will be hiking app prices in Singapore and six other countries in the next 72 hours. Under the new pricing scheme, the cheapest paid iPhone app will cost S$1.48, up S$0.20 from S$1.28 now.
The change will also affect users in Canada, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia and South Africa.
News website The Next Web provided a screenshot of Apple’s note to developers in which Apple explained that the change was due to fluctuations in exchange rates.
The iPhone and iPad maker also said users with subscriptions to an app via in-app purchase will receive an email notifying them of the change, with the option to turn off their subscription. The subscriptions will however not be automatically interrupted.
The Singapore dollar fell to a six-year low against the greenback at the start of the year, It is expected to fall further this year as a result of higher US interest rates and China’s accelerated policy on yuan devualuation.
