Linda Loh-Tammila is Head Teacher at the Fountain Square Playschool in Espoo, which is 30 mins from Helsinki. A Singaporean who has worked there for about 3 years, she describes an ordinary day in her English language pre-school, where she teaches the children basic verbal, literacy and numerical skills. However Raija Ikaheimo, who teaches the Finnish language at Fountain Square, thinks teaching the children social skills to be more important at their age, than academic lessons. TODAY Senior Reporter Ng Jing Yng talked to Linda and Raija, about their contrasting cultural approaches to teaching.
