7,600kg of recyclables collected at NDP

We thank Ms Lian Guan Mui for her feedback for more accessible recycling bins at public mass events, such as the National Day Parade (“Do more for recycling at public mass events”; Aug 12).
The National Environment Agency (NEA) had worked with the organisers of this year’s National Day Parade to incorporate recycling measures. Recycling bins were deployed where there was sufficient space and recyclables were also collected at the backend by the waste collectors.
This year, a total of 7,600kg of recyclables was collected.
We have taken note of Ms Lian’s comments and will continue to work with the organisers to improve recycling measures at future events.
