Every individual has his own inclinations and aspirations, be it in sports, the arts or academic pursuits.

While a “more varied curriculum” including outdoor activities, as suggested by Mr Ho, can help develop qualities like discipline, diligence and determination, these very same qualities are also called for if one wishes to excel academically.

An excellent academic record does not merely reveal the intellectual prowess of an individual, it also reflects qualities like discipline, perseverance, steely determination and resilience, diligence.

It even indicates whether a student is attentive in class and has a positive attitude towards school and teachers. These are all praiseworthy attributes, attributes which will help see students through the ups and downs of life.
