Adopt booklet system to holistically manage S’poreans’ health
The idea of storing health records online has been around for some time. But even with rapidly evolving infocomm technology solutions, nothing concrete has emerged and taken off among the public.
The idea of storing health records online has been around for some time. But even with rapidly evolving infocomm technology solutions, nothing concrete has emerged and taken off among the public.
As such, Singaporeans’ health is not holistically and systematically managed across government agencies and institutions, and people are not managing healthcare spending efficiently.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong has begun rolling out its e-health online system.
I suggest that as we introduce our own programmes, we can, in the interim, also adopt a health record booklet system for easy reference. This should capture not just records of Western medical treatment but also alternative treatments such as traditional Chinese medicine, and the consumption of medicine and supplements.
