The campaign should also go to the schools. I have seen students leaving their rubbish behind at void decks, playgrounds and bus stops.
In fast food restaurants, I have noticed that those who clear their trays are in the minority. Similarly, at food courts, the culture of clearing one’s tray has not caught on yet.
In shopping centres, the management should deploy more staff to clean the toilets. In one shopping centre at Jurong East, for example, the toilets are not as clean as when it first opened.
When I was in Seoul and Bangkok last year, I noticed that cleaning staff were stationed at the shopping centre toilets. This kept the toilets clean and dry.
Let us all, Singaporeans or otherwise, do our part to keep Singapore clean and green. It would reflect our culture and project a positive image to the world.
