Broadcast Olympic events featuring Singapore athletes on more platforms

I am proud of the support our athletes are getting as they prepare for the Olympic Games (“President Tony Tan confident of S’pore’s medal chances in Rio”; June 21).

However, the Government should push for more platforms to broadcast the competitions in which our athletes are participating. An increase in television viewership, through live content, would create more awareness, making it easier for young and old to talk about our athletes. And it would be the public’s way of showing their support.

I also hope that there can be free screenings at the community centres.
