Bus terminal for S’pore-M’sia tour buses is needed

Every week, thousands of Singaporeans visit Johor, Melaka and other Malaysian tourist destinations.

There are tour buses parked at a vehicle park in Boon Lay, at Golden Mile Complex in Beach Road, and there are Melaka-Singapore express buses parked at the Textile Centre near Jalan Sultan.

Before 8am every morning, the buses along Beach Road cause congestion for other motorists.

The Land Transport Authority should build a centralised terminal, which could be located at Jalan Bahar or Tuas, where land is plentiful. It could be air conditioned, with shops, restaurants and toilets.

Johor has a centralised bus terminal and so does Melaka: Modern terminals that also have tour agencies. The taxi terminals are located next to the bus terminals.

Since we have airports and ferry terminals for air and sea passengers, why not one for land travellers?
