We thank Mr Joshua Chia for his feedback, in “Cashless system better than cash machines in supermarkets” (Sept 12).

FairPrice encourages our shoppers and the community at large to use cashless payments, available in all our stores.

To cater for shoppers who prefer to use cash, we introduced the iCash system, which is a cash machine, in some of our stores to complement our various payment systems.

This helped to increase productivity and accuracy in processing cash transactions. The system can accept a stack of notes, in various denominations; there is no need to feed notes into it individually.

iCash eliminates the need to prepare cash floats manually for each cashier at the start of their shifts, provides greater security, as the cash is held in secured cassettes, and significantly reduces time spent performing end-of-day cash reconciliation.

This enhances efficiency and allows our staff to better assist and interact with customers.

FairPrice will continue to innovate and enhance our customers’ overall shopping experience.
