We thank Mr Ivan Goh for his suggestions, in “Reduce foreign player quota in S-League” (Jan 22, online).

We assure him that our aim is always to maintain a good balance between grooming and developing local players and creating added excitement in the S-League by allowing clubs to sign good-quality foreign players.

In our ongoing efforts to improve the league, we will look into his suggestion that the number of foreign players in the clubs be reduced.

Our clubs are also constantly engaging their grassroots and community via outreach activities, so that they can establish closer ties with the residents and schools in their immediate vicinity, and draw more fans to their home matches.

We thank Mr Goh for his support of local football, and welcome his continued feedback to improve the local game.
